1. What This Website Is
San Rafael Residents Directory is a privately operated reference to public rolls, record indexes, and historical directory collections connected with San Rafael and Marin County, California. It does not host government records and is not affiliated with a public office, court, library, or custodian.
2. Rules for Using This Site
Use the pages only for lawful purposes. You may not use the reference or information reached through it to:
- Stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or harm another person

3. No Consumer Reports
This is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. section 1681 and following. Nothing on the pages, and nothing returned by a linked search tool, is a consumer report. It may not be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose covered by the FCRA.
4. Outside Links
County and state portals, libraries, courts, archives, and sponsored services maintain their own terms, pricing, availability, and data practices. San Rafael Residents Directory does not control or accept responsibility for those outside services.
5. No Warranties
The reference is supplied “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. No promise is made that a fact, fee, coverage date, link, or portal result is accurate, complete, current, or available.
6. Limits on Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or other damages arising from use of this reference or a linked resource, including action taken from a record found through it.
7. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold the operators harmless from claims, demands, losses, and reasonable attorneys' fees arising from your misuse of the site or violation of these terms.
8. Intellectual Property
Original writing, design, layout, and logo elements are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a short attributed excerpt is allowed. Full-page republication and systematic copying are not.
9. Changes to These Terms
The operators may post a revised version at any time. Continued use after the revision is posted means the new terms are accepted.
10. Cutting Off Access
Access may be blocked or limited for a user who violates these terms, abuses the pages, or threatens site security. That action may occur without advance notice.
11. Governing Law
California law governs these terms, without applying conflict-of-law principles. California's open-records framework is the California Public Records Act, Government Code Division 10, sections 7920.000 and following. The California Consumer Privacy Act, Civil Code section 1798.100 and following, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, governs applicable privacy rights. Those statutes govern public agencies and covered businesses in their own scope; they do not make this private reference a records custodian.
12. Severability
If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
13. Questions
